Privacy Policy
About this policy
This policy explains how Bosloe uses email addresses for the newsletter and reader teams on this UK-based author website.
Newsletter and reader teams
When you subscribe to the newsletter, I collect your email address. Newsletter emails are sent through MailerLite, which processes subscriber details to provide this service. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email.
ARC team applications are made through Google Forms and include contact details so I can respond. Alpha readers access early chapters through the higher Patreon tiers, rather than applying through a form on this site. The Legion Discord server also offers ARC opportunities.
How your details are used
I use your details for the newsletter or reader-team contact you requested. I do not sell your personal data or share it with others for their marketing. Services such as MailerLite and Google Forms process the details needed to provide the services described above.
Asking for your data to be deleted
To ask me to delete the personal data I hold about you, email bosloemcanu@gmail.com. Please use the address you subscribed or applied with so I can identify your details.
Links to other websites
This website links to third-party sites including Amazon, Patreon, Discord and Google Forms. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you use their services.
Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Browser storage can also remember information on your device. The Cookie settings link in the footer lets you accept, reject or change optional choices at any time. Browsing or scrolling does not give consent. Rejecting optional tools does not prevent you from using this site.
- bosloe-cookie-consent (localStorage, strictly necessary): remembers your analytics and marketing choices, the time you chose and the consent version. Choices are valid for 12 months. You are asked again if they expire or the version changes. Browser storage has no automatic expiry, so the saved record can remain until replaced or you clear it, but an expired choice is not used as consent.
- sb-…-auth-token (localStorage, strictly necessary for sign-in): keeps an existing account signed in and holds its session and refresh information. It is not an analytics identifier. It has no fixed browser-storage expiry and is normally removed when you sign out, or when you clear site storage. Session validity is managed by the sign-in service.
- tsr-scroll-restoration-v1_3 (sessionStorage, strictly necessary navigation support): remembers page scroll positions so returning to a page restores your place. It lasts for the browser tab's session and is normally removed when the tab closes.
- _ga and _ga_* (cookies, optional analytics): Google Analytics uses these to distinguish browsers and maintain visit information, helping me understand how the site is used. They are set only after you accept Analytics, with a lifetime of up to two years from creation or refresh. Google receives this analytics data. If you withdraw Analytics consent, the site stops analytics and removes these cookies from this site's domain. Data already sent cannot be recalled by withdrawing consent.
- __cf_bm (hosting security cookie, strictly necessary): Cloudflare uses this to help protect the hosted site from automated abuse. It was observed on the hosted site with a lifetime of 30 minutes. It is set by the hosting service, not by Google Analytics.
- __dpl (hosting cookie): this was observed on the hosted site with an expiry approximately 24 hours after the visit. It is managed by the hosting platform. Its exact purpose and strictly necessary status have not been confirmed, so this policy does not assume it is exempt from consent.
Analytics is off until you choose it. Strictly necessary storage stays available for the site and sign-in to work. No advertising or marketing tools are used, and Google advertising permissions remain denied even if you choose Accept all. Fonts are served by this site rather than requested from Google Fonts.
To withdraw consent, open Cookie settings and choose Reject non-essential, or switch Analytics off and choose Save choices. If Google Analytics was already loaded, the page reloads to stop it completely. Choices are stored separately in each browser and for each site address. If your browser cannot save the choice, analytics stays off and you are asked again.
