A Clockwork OgreThe Amatherean Tales, Book 2
An unlikely hero is embroiled in village politics, a fantastical war, and an orphan’s vengeful quest in the second book of this portal fantasy series.
After a hobgoblin raid leaves the town of Killic in disarray, fae assassin SJ and her AI sidekick, Dave, know they’ll need to devise a strategic counterstrike. But when Cristy—a gnoll left orphaned by the attack—takes things into her own hands, a fierce war suddenly erupts at their doorstep.
As the battle rages on, SJ makes another troubling discovery: the level cap around Killic has doubled, allowing overpowered Legionnaires, mighty wyverns, and mysterious assassins to stir up even more trouble in the once-idyllic starter town. Since she rejected the System’s terms and conditions, strange trials have popped up all around her, but she’s never faced such dangerous enemies before.
Newly appointed to Killic’s council, SJ must be equal parts diplomat and warrior. The fate of the town and her new companions depends on her shrewdness and grit. But she has her sights set higher than just survival . . . She’ll do everything possible to wield the chaos to achieve glory.
The second volume of the hit LitRPG adventure series—with 1.1M+ manuscript views on WorldAnvil—now available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook!
Audiobook narrated by Rebecca Woods, published by Podium Entertainment.
What readers say
What an excellent story! SJ’s status as a loophole finder after she refused to sign the System’s terms and conditions continues to enchant. It’s entertaining to see how she impacts the world around her.
Brilliant storytelling in what is becoming a predictable genre. Often in LitRPG, there's issues of an OP MC, navel gazing, pages and pages of tables and then the harem element turns up. Yawn. Not here and I can't wait for the next book.
Bosloe has definitely outdone himself! A Clockwork Ogre is definitely better than One Flew Over the Dragon’s Nest, and that book was great! More action, more character development, new challenges for SJ and her friends!
